As your tariff has a Daily standing Charge(DSC) we need to know the period of the bill. The billing period also affects the amount of discount.
Also at the beginning of the billing period, were you in credit or debit?
You have used nearly 7,000kWh gas , so cost for gas alone will be approx. £270.
For electricity £237.
Your DSC is 15.39p for gas and 22.05p for electricity.
So your total bill will probably be between £550 and £6000 -
the start date was about october 2013, when i switched to them,

It is difficult to give you an accurate calculation without the exact date your tariff began.
I have calculated it as if it began halfway through October (15th to be exact). If the real start date is earlier, your bill will be slightly more. If it is later, your bill will be slightly less. Since you have provided your current meter reading, I have calculated it up to 18th September. I’m no expert at these things, so hopefully someone will double check my calculations and correct any mistakes.
Gas
6838*0.03845 + 339*0.1539 = £315.09
Electricity
1824*0.12978 + 339*0.2205 = £311.47
Total = £626.56
I don't know much about the discounts involved, but this suggests you are in credit right now. Obviously this is not a wholly accurate calculation, but at least it gives you a ballpark figure to take back to Npower.0 -
You have the bill in front of you so why can't you state the billing period? It's impossible to calculate the bill without this info.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Your latest bill should show a Tariff Comparison Rate (TCR) for gas and electricity. This figure takes into account the cost per Kwh, standing charge etc.
I have just checked my last bill against the TCR figure and it gives a pretty good estimate of the total cost.
Alternatively, spend 99p and buy Meters for IOS or Android. Enter your tariff details: unit rate, discounts etc and two meter readings with dates and the answers that you are seeking will appear. I use it all the time. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I suspect someone conversant with applications for 'IOS or Android' would not be asking for the advice requested by the OP0 -
Don't forget that npower will also be charging you in advance for the coming winter, so you'll be building up a credit in addition to what you've spent over the past 12 months or so. Assuming you were to stay with them on the same tariff with the same usage (I know its a fix that is about to end) you'd see the monthly costs reduce. However, as your rates are about to jump, and you're probably about to move to another supplier for a better deal, that smoothing of the payments will be hidden by the changing rates and cross-over in the switch period. Ultimately any credit you've overpaid will come back, and in theory you should credit that straight to your new supplier in order to have a pre-payment balance built up ready for winter.0
