Conservatory costs

Hello all,
In the middle of buying a property, and had a building survey done this past week. It turns out that there is dry rot in the timber framed conservatory. We were aware the roof needed replacing but not of the rot in the frame.
So it looks like the £2k cost originally budgeted for is out the window.
I have a couple of local window/conservatory companies coming to look at it next week (as soon as I can get the vendors time), but I would appreciate it if anybody has first hand experience of this type of work could shed any light on the potential costs involved.
The conservatory is built on a dwarf wall, approx 3.5m x 3.5m size. We would want the timber frame and glass roof replacing with uPVC, and the glass in the roof replacing with self cleaning blue tint glass.
Any info you can offer would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
L.

MIL is having her conservatory replaced at the moment. There was an existing asbestos board, single glazed structure which has been removed. A new conservatory - A rated glass, tinted roof glass, decent ironmongery, tilt and turn windows, etc. fitted. Size is around 4600x2600. She did not shop around and negotiate. The price is about £5250 for removing and disposing of the existing conservatory, then fitting the new one.0

I think it's a simple equation, dead conservatory = equals no value.
You have to do the sum for resurrection when you have the homeI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

Thanks for the info. This sounds like a good deal to me, no wonder your IL hasn't shopped around!
I've spoken to a few people at work re. my predicament and guesses are mostly between 5-6k.0 -
Somebody I know went and found a cheap conservatory company last year - they did all their research etc etc and found one at 9'x10' or so that was white panels on one wall, glass all the rest, double opening doors, apex roof type, white uPVC. It cost £1600 without foundations. Their family dug the foundations for them at no charge.... she said it'd have cost her £2600 if the conservatory company had done the lot.0

A cheap way to get a conservatory is to pick one of the styles and sizes in the Wickes catalogue. The drawback the last time I looked they were only available with a polycarbonate roof. This did not meet my requirements, so I did not lok further into them.I do not know who makes them, nor the quality, nor any accreditation.0
