PPI Claim Joint Mortgate - Financial Ombudsman

Hi All

I filed a PPI complaint 18 months ago with the Financial Ombudsman about my mortgage payments that I had been paying since 2005 to 2012.

The mortgage was in joint names, however I am no longer with my partner and haven't seen him for about 4 years.
The relationship ended really badly and he showed threatening behaviour towards me - resulting in solictors etc.
I have explained and explained to the financial ombudsman why I do not want to get in touch with him, but they say they need his signature. In the past I have had to move house twice as he found out where I lived - the bank gave him my address (twice!!)
Anyway, yesterday I had another call and email from the financial ombudsman yesterday saying that if my ex wasn't willing to be part of the complaint (and sign the complaints form), then then would close the case. I've have explained my case to them over and over again but they won't listen. S
Any suggestions - I really don't want to have to contact him.

Many thanks

If you want to advance your complaint you really have no alternative.

He was a legal party to the insurance and has a legal right to be involved in the complaint. It isnt something that can be avoided.

In the event of a successful complaint, despite being statistically unlikely, he would be entitled to a share of the money (or possibly even all of it depending on how the policy was set up - e.g. 50/50 or 75/25 or 100/0).

Not really sure what anyone can add to this, you have been told by FOS the ways it stands.
