Hi everyone, I am just seeking clarification as to where I stand with this.
We moved from talktalk to bt on 26 August-thi is when BT service started, providing us with broadband and line rental.
The charges are: 15.99 line rental, 7.50 broadband. There was also a £75 sainsburys voucher which we have received and also £30 cashback currently processing through quidco.
Imagine my surprise when I open my emails this morning to find that bt have sent this:
We're changing some of our prices in December
From 1 December 2014 line rental will go up to £16.99 a month. We're also making changes to some of our other prices. Click here for details, and read on to find out about Line Rental Plus and some of our great money-saving offers.
I signed up with them for the offers associated with the package, admittedly the line rental is extautionate, but now they are upping it?!
Can they do this? Or am I well within my rights to tell em to shove it and that they've broken the original terms of our contract by upping the price?
flaming cheek. not amused.
thanks for your help!

At the end of the email you received today (I got one today as well) it tells you that you have 30 days from today to tell them that you want to leave your contract without penalty."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Thanks, does that mean we will have to pay back the £75 sainsburys voucher?0

I don't know but I wouldn't spend them just yet just in case. However, I think the vouchers are for signing up with BT, not for staying with them."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

Thanks, I will get in touch with them.ridiculous isn't it lol0

Since it's not a fixed price contract, they can increase the price at any time.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The only way to avoid line rental increases (for 12 months) is to pay up front, as, unless a price fix is specifically stated, they are free to increase prices, but give you the option to leave , penalty free, within 30? days of notification.0
