Portable house phone interfering with internet?

Hi :)

I've just had my Mum on the phone saying she wants new house phones because she's fed up of missing calls and having ansaphone messages disappear because her phone's playing up. She has 3 phones downstairs; they're all not portable and she's also fed up of having to stay by the wall for the whole time she's on the phone.

For some reason I think I've been told that if you have a wireless house phone this could interfere with your internet? Her hub is in the (coverted) loft as it is so sometimes she has trouble with it being far away if she's on her laptop downstairs.

I'm looking online, and can see some handsets that would be ideal for her, eg. http://direct.asda.com/Panasonic-KX-TG6823---cordless-phone---answering-system-with-caller-ID-2-additional-handsets/008733852,default,pd.html?dual=0&action=product_interest&action_type=title&bucket_id=irsbucketdefault&placement_id=PERSONA&config_id=PERSONA&parent_item_id=008728994&strategy=PWVAV&category=AD06050101&product_id=008733852&findingMethod=p13n but am concerned about her internet being affected. Do all three phones go back to one wall connection?

Help appreciated, as you can tell we're both a bit clueless. :o
Are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Yes there will be one base station at the line connection which should have a filter on for the phone.
    Will work fine no problem.

Different technology possibly but they're both radio base stations sending signals to receivers.

As such, the proximity of one base station to another can be a problem - but separation of a metre or 2 is usually adequate to solve that problem.

Having said that, I had my internet router (2400MHz), a Sky Gnome transmitter (864.6/433.92MHz) and a DECT base station (1800MHz) within inches of each other behind my TV in the past without any problem whatsoever.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

As per Heinz -make sure that the base station is 3-4 feet away from router then no issues!
