I tried all the specialist ones including dri-clor and Mitchum and the one that I felt was the best was Sure stick, I have always been fresh and dry since using it and will not use anything else.

  • I suffer from excessive sweating its awful. I hate the ones you put on overnight, they sting like hell and I can't sleep. When I get anxious cause of the pain I sweat which makes it then sting more haha. I had a huge painful rash when I used driclor, it works but the pain and side effects are unbearable in my opinion.

I tried both the roll on and the spray of mitchium and they don't do anything for me. Am at a loss at what to do. I've had botox on the nhs and it didn't work at all. I was due to have an operation but once again the side effects and the danger of collapsing your lungs made me to scared to do it. I was told (and am going to investigate further) that they can do laser treatment to burn or remove the sweat glands from your armpits. Its a bit drastic but it can be done local anesthetic and you don't have to stay in hospital I don't think. Am just throwing it out there incase anyone else has excessive sweating and at a loss. My doctors told me there was nothing that could be done for excessive sweating until I went and researched myself.

I will give the sure sticks a go though.
  • I too have suffered for many years with underarm sweating issues and have tried 101 brands with no luck they either dont work or bring me out in a very painful rash until I saw a T.V. program where they were testing different brands and the one that won the NO Sweat award was from Mr T his own brand "pro" range for men and surprise surprise it works for me Im not male but it dont smell too butch :rotfl: and a bargin at £1.25!

  • Try bicarb.

You can either mix it with water to a thick paste and add a couple of drops of essential oils to make it smell nice. Alternatively you can apply antiperspirant, allow it to dry and then apply dry bicarb in its powder form on top.

It shouldn't irritate the skin but obviously if it does then stop using it immediately.

Rach and Sparky - and me makes 3.

I sweat like a pig, - what makes my worse its not from under the arms, mines from my head and down my back, you can literally ring out the tops. I've been back and forth to the GP, had explanations from your diabetic, over weight, under stress...... and not normal... I think i know that. To the extent that in Winter I can only wear a tshirt under a fleece as anything thicker and it gets soaked through, then that gets cold, and usually end up with sniffles.

It looks like I've come straight under a shower.

as I said before the only one that helps me is sanex, go on my back, but can't find anything for my hair.

Mine started when I was pregnant with DD, came on overnight, it feels like my thermostat has gone haywire, anywhere I go, I have to carry couple of pairs of knickers, (the sweat on my back runs down), then a change of clothes as well. xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Honestly give trust a go... It's a cream you put on overnight like moisturiser cream. I've used it after shaving under my arms and never stung. You only need a fine coverage of it so although the tin is small £8 isn't too bed as lasts ages. I use the sure 48 cream stick during the day.

Yeah i've had years of doctors saying it could be stress or anxiety etc. I know you have only had yours since birth of your child but i've had my since I was born and so there was no chance it was related to stress. Just keep pushing and say you want to be referred to a dermatologist. You shouldn't have to live like that if there is something that can be done. Sometimes sweating can be for other medical reasons and the hospital will do tests to rule that out. I sweat from my armpits, face and hands and feet really bad. You can take tablets (prescription from hospital) that will stop the sweating but the side effects are nasty, extreme dry mouth and headaches and nausea.

Thanks all as usual for all your replies.

Reading them it does seem that roll on sticks work better than deodorant sprays?
