The effects of arrangements markers are a whole lot of trouble credits use these instead of defaults as they know defaulted account will be gone in six years where they can use ar makers for 15 to 20 years

I never knew this, how come so long? Even on a closed account?

    Thanks

Instead of issuing a default, they use AR for years, then when paid off, it stays for 6 years (from account being closed).

Some even use ARs for say 5-10 years then issue a default.

Hi got put on a reduced payment and reduced interest rate arrangement 2007 thought it was best tried to end it in 2010 and return to normal they refused said it was a 14 year repayment agreement that I had agreed to complain went to FOS rejected as I agreed so stuck with it no one will touch you with a barge pole with AR on your file best of luck getting it changed

I hope they do not try this
  • Hi All,

I have an update in my situation with Lloyds today...

I received a phone call back from the same Customer Service Manager today and he explained that he was thinking about my situation over night and he that he wanted me to fax him a copy of my credit report with the AR markers showing as he said that he couldn't see them on my Experian report. I explained that it is showing on my Callcredit report so I faxed it to him to show him.

He then called back saying he had received it and said that he was going to look into this more with his superiors and that he would call me back later in the day.

So the phone call came at around 5pm today and he came back with better news than I was expecting...

He advised that the AR markers will be deleted from my credit report which is the biggest relief to me, but he also advised that I will be getting compensation in the form of interest that I am owed back plus the £50 he promised yesterday. In total he said I am owed £265.00 which I was not expecting at all.

I was very thankful to him as it seems he had gone well out of his way to make sure that the right thing was done and more. I have checked my account this evening and the amount he said has already been deposited in to my account and he also said he would send what has been agreed on the phone in writing to me.

It would seem that on this occasion I am may have been very lucky that I got through to a Manager that actually does think about the customer as well as the business.

Thanks to all for your helpful replies before.
  • Well done that is good news for you

    Another useless reply!

Erm no not really if a lender is not telling someone of the consquences of such arrangements and your argument is valid then their are loads of people in the same position as you. :D

As MSE posters should be made aware just in case they want to challenge it also.

Isnt it MSE were all these campaigns start?

I understand what you are saying and I agree, it just seemed like you were having a dig at me and all I wanted was help from the forum that have a lot more knowledge on these topics than I ever would.
