Tax Credits and Child's part time income

I'm claiming WTC and CTC and have 2 children age 14 and 16.

My 16 year old is on a college course so I am still claiming for him on the tax credits.

He wants to find a part-time job whilst studying but I am wondering if this will affect the tax credits we currently receive.

We also receive housing and council tax benefit and wondered if this would be affected too?

Thanks in advance.

Bumped my thread on this for you x
  • Thanks Blondebubbles.

Does this mean I don't need to declare the extra income anywhere on the form?

    Thanks

I rang tax credits to inform them and they told me as long as he remains in full time education what he earns had no effect on the tax credits. I also phoned re housing benefit and they said the same. They did recommend however that I sent a copy of paperwork with details of his course just in case x hth
