Bad breath solution for dogs?

I'm looking for any good suggestions for my dog's bad breath. Any effective remedy?

I would investigate the cause of the bad breath, rather than the symptom.

It could be the dog's diet - what are you feeding? Poor quality food can lead to odour issues - the sugar in low quality wet food, for example, provides a breeding ground for bacteria and can lead to tartar and plaque, and could add to bad breath problems.

It could be a medical issue - has the dog seen a vet about the issue? Any kind of infection in the mouth, e.g. gum disease, tooth abcess, etc. could cause foul breath, but there are non-dental causes of bad breath as well.

It could be environmental - a dog that eats poo, for example, won't have the freshest of breath!

    Dental treatment.
  • Well, you could try doggy toothpaste.

We also use this powder in their food which also helps although it is not an instant fix. Good reviews too.

It is a good idea to be alone in a garden at dawn or dark so that all its shy presences may haunt you and possess you in a reverie of suspended thought.

  • Our lass is just whiffy breathed now.. the vets checked her out.

Chews to clean her teeth, charcoal biscuits and yoghurt to help her tummy, we tried a breath freshener you add to her water bowl but it didn't seem to make a noticeable difference.

We also have dog toothbrush and toothpaste which she will tolerate and it seems to help but distreses her.

But I agree if any slightest chance that dog could be poorly see vet first
