I too have received the final warning before court action and i intend to ignore it. I haven't replied to any letter so far and do not want to waste a stamp replying to it. Not sure if its the right thing to do, i have a feeling its just a last ditch attempt to get me to pay a 'reduced fee' of £130!! What does anyone else think??

Read the Newbies Sticky, then start your own thread - Don't hijack someone else's, especially not a Scottish or NI thread as the advice is totally different to England and Wales
  • Anyway to get them to stop harrasing me if indeed this is unenforceable? Should I contact Co-op? Read the advice on another thread to contact crown copyright/ trading standards will follow suit once i'm home document looks completely hashed up will post any correspondence recieved

You should certainly complain to the Co-op, not all polite asking them to 'help'. A complaint about this harassment by their agent, particularly as in NI a Registered Keeper cannot be liable. Obviously word the complaint carefully not to imply who was driving - talk about 'the car' and 'the driver who was a regular Co-op customer' in the third person. And you can add that your family as a whole spend £xxxx per year...blah blah...which is safe to say and doesn't imply who was the driver.

But TBH you may have to sit out the letter chain. Unless you also complain to the BPA (email address in the Newbies sticky thread post #6) again being careful to complain about the harassment of you as a registered keeper, as you cannot be legally liable where no admissions or evidence exist as to who the driver may have been, all those years ago. Unacceptable harassment by the PPC.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

There are other posts about this today. Someone has noticed the copyright form 'c'[encircled]is missing when a close comparison is done with the Crown Copyright mark, but 'intention to deceive' is obvious. Strong complaint necessary and make Sweet and Maxwell aware too, if this applies with your letter.

See these:[Go back to parking Thread main index and enter Crown Copyright into the 'Search this Forum' box:

Any intention to deceive or attempt to obtain monies by misrepresentation should be brought to the attention of your local Trading Standards Department. Who will, if enough people cpmplain bring criminal charges.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
