That's a difficult one, how old is your daughter? I think you have to tell her, if she found out at a later date that you hadn't there might be repercussions. However, I do think that it is your daughter's choice whether to go visit him or not. It is a bit much that now her dad decides to get in touch, because he is ill, very selfish, so if your daughter decides not to go, she should not feel guilty in any way. Good luck with this one

She's 12 purplefran she's very sensible for age too. I'm going to sit her down over the weekend and have a chat with her. I can't believe that side of her family haven't thought about dd and just tried to plough through our lives they don't know where we live so that's a saving grace.Saving for Xmas 2015 #84 £163.00 ~ £365

Good luck. My ex husbands family decided to get in touch 12 years after he had died. My adults boys even found this difficult with questions like 'why now?'. As it happened all turned out fine, but I don't envy you that conversation, you will do fine as you sound like a really caring person xGrocery Challenge £2400/Spent £90.73

Had a chat with dd she said she's not interested she doesn't want to see him or his family so I'm going to respect her wishes.
Well back to the money side of my life, I can finally start my new spreadsheet and start seeing where every penny goes and where I can save. Me and dd have got a weekend away to look forward to and meals have been provided at a really cheap rate so it will be a cheap weekend. I think we need a little bit of time away from the stress of recent events and time together.Saving for Xmas 2015 #84 £163.00 ~ £365

I thought I was the only one who liked spreadsheets

I'm currently in the trial period with YNAB and while it does seem very convenient, I'm still hesitant to spend money on money tracking software.
I might stick to Excel and the Spending Tracker mobile app (which was £1.99).CC debt at 0%: £7540

i made my own with excel as I have looked at loads of pre made ones and they never seem to fit with my style of budgeting.

I start uni next week so I'm going to take my flask in with coffee already made and a packed lunch as the food and drink is so expensive. I did get some bargains from asda on Sunday night as the bread was reduced to 2p a loaf and I got 15 bagels for 2p too so my lunches are all sorted for the next two weeks at uni can't wait to start now.

Had a really busy weekend I booked it and paid for it last year we went away for our martial arts,it was really interesting. The organisers had sort out a carvery but it was £5.50 a head so I took food with me a lot cheaper. I only spent £2 all weekend and a pound of that was on milk as someone decided to drink half of what i took on the first night (very frustrating) and another £1 on a chocolate bar for me and dd as we were both craving sugar after exercising all day and needed a little treat, we did well considering some people spent a fortune.
Uni tomorrow and my flasks all ready to go my lectures aren't bad this term and I get a day in the week off which will be nice.Saving for Xmas 2015 #84 £163.00 ~ £365
