modular wardrobe

Options
I am currently doing lots of DIY to my new house, and will after finishing my painting and laying some carpets be thinking of wardrobes. Fitted wardrobes seem to be very expensive and I want the wardrobe to go round a corner so I have been looking at modular wardrobes for the flexibility.

Has anyone used any of these and can recommend them? I wouldn't beable to do a fitted wardrobe myself.

I have been looking at the b and q range, good variety but mixed messages on quality. A company called room 4 interiors, look nice on the pictures but hard to find any reviews which makes me nervous. And the ikea pax range, I find the ikea website very hard to navigate and they do do a corner unit, but its hard to match up from the website. And from what I can tell their are no matching bedside cabinets and chests of draws. But as I said the website I find terrible.

Has anyone else used any of the products and can recommend them?

  • Ikea Pax, cheap, solid and there's a wide variety of looks to suit.

We had a set floor to ceiling that is over 12 years old and they look the same as when we bought them.

And if you're thrifty you can save loads by buying them 2nd hand on ebay and gumtree.

There are 2 heights one 2.00m and one 2.36 m obviously the 2.36 will give you the floor to ceiling fitted look but make sure your ceilings are at least 2.40m high otherwise you won't have enough clearance to get them up.
