Help! How did you choose a blog name?

I am planning on starting a blog, but am having terrible trouble trying to come up with a name.

So how did all you bloggers come up with your blog names? Does it have to be about the subject of the blog or could it be something more random than that?

It doesn't have to be anything, but it could be argued that it helps to have a blog name which in some way represents the content.

E.g. you could have an initially more successful blog with "The Tech Blog" than "Kel's Blog" with a blog that is all about tech.

What exactly is the blog going to be about? I'd say finding a related name would be more useful to its successes.

Hi All, thanks for all the replies.

I am planning on having my blog about kids fashion and life-style (days out, holidays, toys etc), basically its centered around kids.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am having serious trouble coming up with a name at the moment that is good and hasn't already been taken.

Well then I would definitely suggest a name that relates to the content, because that is very unique and specific.

Do a brainstorm with key words what the blog is about, e.g. start off with "kids" "kids fashion", "kids toys", specific phrases or words that are directly related. When you have a bunch of words, you can start possibly putting some together to create title ideas. The best are simple, as short as is possible, and preferably good for Search (so you show up in Google more likely/often).

Anything you can come up with which is catchy and easy to remember is also a great way to start off, people have success without any of these things but it just takes more time. An already optimised name helps in a lot of ways.

Top of my head.. Just4Kids, A Kids Day Out, Just Be Kids, Stuff4Kids Blog, etc.. those are fairly rubbish but just as an idea
