Building Society Windfalls

What is the likelihood of any more windfall payments by Building Societies , went carpetbagging years ago have numerous accounts with varous societies but now looking to close some of these anyones thoughts on this issue would be welcome

If you are a director with one of these building societies than the likelihood is very high
If you are a member with savings than the likelihood is very low.

Why, now that the wholesale funding model has been shown to be flawed by the Credit Crunch, would a building society demutualise?

There is no value to be had. It won't happen.

It's not an unreasonable point.

But finding a price that extracts value to the members of a building society will be difficult to achieve.
