  • ive wired in about 15 mobius cameras into a friends works vans, they are used at least 10 hours a day each for about 15 months now

    not one problem

besides most are micro/mini usb so if it did fail the same cable will more than likely work for other cameras

We've used the cameras about 7 or 8 times to get drivers out of things they didnt cause

Just take anything Strider590 says with a pinch of salt :)

    How does this work?
8gb is that enough memory for HD recording?
How does it work with google maps? Does it use my phones internet or something?
Does it need to be wired in or does it just use a battery and can be recharged?

    Is it any good?

The oldest recording gets overwritten, only 'crash' incidents are kept, although it says HD , is that 720p or 1080p ?
As said though they will all do the job.

ETA, it's 720p same as the phone, here is a clip of the model you are looking at in action.

    Thats pretty good!

8gb, how many minutes/hours would that hold? If its 10 minutes it could end up overwriting it by the time you have finished arguing/exchanging details. If its a couple of hours thats not too bad.

Im not sure about where it displays the speed though! I dont make a habit of speeding but im sure we have all done it. If the insurance see 35 in 30 that could be a reason to not pay out - hanging yourself.

It's a lot, I have a 16gb card in my device (with 8gb allocated to the app) and the slots set to 10 mins, when I picked up my car, I recorded the whole 115 miles 2 hrs plus journey , at 30fps you will get 8hrs worth at 60fps 4hrs before it starts overwriting the 1st recording, the gps info can be disabled in the menu.
  • The other thing to remember is that in the event of a crash a decent camera will protect that recording and not record over it. On most you can do this at the press of a button as well. Very useful for posting the idiot video to Youtube

Yes that is correct the g-sensor will auto mark the recording the sensitivity can be set, well infact it creates a secondary recording 1 minute before and after the event.
TBH I used my previous handset until I decided upon a camera, but the specs of the devices are often inferior to the sony phone.
