I signed paperwork with money boomerang in June 2012 in respect of claiming ppi. I honestly didn't think I had taken out any and had totally forgotten about it. Think about under a year ago I received a letter from money boomerang asking for more information. Duly completed this.
Get a call last week from Lloyd's asking me to confirm the following:
1. Details of sick pay policy in my job. I would receive full pay for up to a year.
2. Payout if I died whilst in service. As I was part of the company scheme. Payout was four times my salary
3. Redundancy payout details. The company I worked for would pay three weeks for every year worked.
The guy on the phone said fine and said I would hear shortly. Got a letter on Monday from Lloyd's saying that claim was upheld and I would receive a payout of just over £8000.
In the same post was an invoice from money boomerang for 2400. I'm not being greedy in wanting to keep my money but I'm loathed to pay them anything given the length of time it has taken to resolve the claim. I just don't feel that they have earned the fee.
Has anybody else come across a similar situation and how did you resolve it?

They haven't. No claims company does. All they do is put a stamp on the envelope and send it to the free of charge complaints address. However, you signed a contract agreeing that charge.
You dont have a leg to stand on. As much as most of us here hate claims companies as they are little more than parasites who are worse at mis-selling than the banks, if you agree a contract to employ them and pay them a certain amount then that is what you owe them.Has anybody else come across a similar situation and how did you resolve it?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
