Homebuyers Survey 2 months into sale

I have just been informed that my buyer want a Homebuyers Survey completed on my flat. This is 2 months after the offer was accepted. Why would someone do this at such a late stage? Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Are they FTBs? Perhaps they were misinformed and thought the valuation was all they needed? It's seems a little unusual, but I wouldn't worry ...they wouldn't be asking for one unless they were serious about the property.0

2 months does seem like a long time to arrange a survey - usually the EA is on tenter-hooks until the survey gets done.
I can only think that they didn't know that the mortgage valuation wasn't the survey.. Have they been dithering so far?Errors of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it. - Jefferson0 -
i'm quite new to this myself but our survey took a while to be arranged and this was down to it being done via our mortgage company and it too a while for the mortgage to get sorted out so maybe their lender is slow to get things through?some times if a mortgage promo is popular they can get a bit inundated with applications and that can slow the process down?0

Thanks for replies.
Yes, they are FTBs, wouldn't say they've been dithering although solicitor is slow according to my solicitor. They already have their mortgage arranged, so it's not the lender being slow (EA told me this). This is an independent survey and my EA is as baffled as I am.
Maybe they just want to be sure there is nothing majorly wrong with the property. I am now worrying that they think they are paying too much money for my flat and are going to try and knock me down. This selling/buying business is too stressful!0
