Better of in work calculation

I am currently Claiming job seekers Allowance and because i get middle Rate care of DLA i get a disability premium plus severe disability premium This totals to £165 odd per week.
I was told by my advisor that if i got a job at 16 to 29 hours i would recive working tax credit. I have the chance of getting a job of 16 hours at NMW however when i do a calculation on turn2 us it comes up i will be £65.00 per week worse off than if i stay on benefit.
I really do want to work as work is good therapy and i even am doing voluntary work at the moment but cannot afford to lose so much per week.
If i turn down the job offer could i be sanctioned even though this will cause hardship thanks

I don't think your DLA is included in the "better off in work" calculation because you're entitled to DLA even if you're working. So add your DLA money onto whatever you're earning and that will be your salary.
The same goes for PIP0 -

yes i know that DLA/PIP is disregarded but on Nmw i would get £100.96 plus Dla plus some housing/ctb working 16 hours
Unemployed i would get £165 (JSA) PLUS DLA full housing benefit and most of ctb so by working 16 hours im substancially down by around £260 per month0 -
You should also get Work tax credit with the disability element added on too (I think?) assuming over 25 years old. You only need to work 16 hrs or more. Oh NMW rises to £6.50 on 1st oct BTW. £104/week currently £101 - I make that £249.20 inc mr care DLA(£252.20 in Oct). So you should be better off.0

Ah I did have a feeling I'd forgotten something.0

You will be entitled to your maximum HB and CT as you get now if working 16 hours per week at £6.50 ph from Oct' based on you still being entitled to the SDP.
Calc':
Wages: £104
WTC: £93.59
DLA: Existing amount
HB: Existing amount
CTS: Existing amountForums can be/are a good guide to entitlement and it is good practice to back it up with clarification from the relevant department/specialist with written confirmation to safeguard yourself.0
