Electric UFH + Stone Floor + Economy 10??
Tacko

Hey All,
Bit of a query, we are in the process of buying a 3 bed cottage in which we'll be doing a fair bit of remodelling downstairs. It is currently heated by storage heaters on economy 7. I've pretty much discounted bringing gas to the property and having CH fitted due to time taken to recover the costs.
However I'm not a huge fan of storage heaters (they are the old style ones). As we are having a new floor put in all through the downstairs it occurred to me that we could put in Electric UFH under stone tiles with insulation underneath, then ask to be put on economy 10. Then by setting the heating to come on in the cheap periods i.e. before we wake up and early evening the tiles will heat up as well as the room and then radiate the heat back into the room in the gaps. Clearly this is still not as good as a gas CH. We do have a huge wood burning stove downstairs as well.
What are peoples thoughts?
Cheers
