How about they are calling it a small business, working x hours per week in order to claim max entitlement to tax credits, that kind of thing?0

I know it's an old thread....but, apart from the fact it has SCAM written all over it .... you can't just run a raffle. There are laws against it.

I doubt they meet any of the criteria that'd exclude them from requiring a license.0 -
Is it not illegal? as it is a form of gambling. Do they not require a licence to be able to raffle off prizes. i have joined in on raffles previously but it has always bugged me to whether it is actually legal or not as they are gambling for profit. and gambling needs to be taken seriously. i have known people spend loads in just a few short hours. i have seen peoples addiction to it.
i have read that raffles are only acceptable without a licence for charity and not for profitable gain.
i may be wrong, i have been unable to find a clear answer as to whether it is legal.0 -

Are there any regulations regarding the selling of oil painting raffle prizes? I have copyright, written into the Certificate of Authenticity which goes with the painting. Is there anything else I can do to protect it?
For such a low value painting, why do you have a CoA and why do you think it's anything to do with you once you've donated it?0
