Please excuse the newbie question:

Do I need planning permission to install up to4 Kwph sysems on my bungalow roof? And does it affect my Neighbours adversley?_

Provided you are not in a conservation area or in a listed building and the panels do not overlap the roof line and are fitted in a standard way, with the usual 1-2" standoff from the tiles then they are classed as permitted development and do not need permission.

Adverse affects to neighbours? Depends if they find the look of them offensive, but there's nothing they can do to stop you having them provided you meet the criteria above.

Generally planning permission is not required, but they must confirm to certain building regulations(which the installers should know off by heart)

On some listed buildings and conservation areas there are restrictions, but an enquiry to your local council will determine the situation for your house.

There have been some cases where neighbours have objected to PV panels on the grounds of sunlight reflecting or they consider they 'lower the tone' of the neighbourhood. However generally they are accepted.
