Money Order

Hi

Sorry if this has been covered before I can't get the search tool to work, but I have recently sold some items on ebay, (to a Canadian lady) who now wants to know if she can pay by a Money Order.....?!

What is a money order and will it cost me to bank it or any other weird and wonderful things I should know about them???

I haven't replied to her yet!!!

Thanks

Murtle

Do not accept ....esp if you have stated other things in your auction she can comply to them!!!

Unless someone knows another way but I had one from a canadian for $30 and couldn't do anything with it!! no travel agents not even auctionpix would do anything with it!! the bank charged to even think about it!!

it would be simpler to just say stick by your methods as it is a contract and it is clearly stated!

I agree with angel, money orders can be a real pain and cost more to pay into a UK bank account than they are worth.

It's up to the buyer to comply with your auction terms so just politely restate your terms and tell her that you will await her payment.

Oh, and don't be surprised if he sends it anyway, that's how I got mine! Told buyer (in the US) I wouldn't take a MO and a few days later he emails me back and says he has sent dollar notes (which I don't accept either). A few days later a MO turns up and when I email the buyer he tells me his wife got muddled and bought the MO and could i please despatch his item that day as he was concerned about the length of time the transaction was taking.

I told the buyer to send me a SAE for the return of the MO and I never heard from him again. A few weeks later I idly checked his id to leave neg feedback and he had been NARUd, I still have that very old MO somewhere.

    Soo

I still have mine!! I made the mistake of sending the item before getting it checked out!! that was back in the days of when I had 10 feedback!! now I know! I also have some dollar notes somewhere too!! I state in all my auctions now either twice or three times (As much as I can get away with!!)
