Credit Card Claim for website con?

I have been really silly, I needed a Title Plan from Land Registry and thought I had ordered it from them and paid £32 - I then realised this was not Land Registry but Land Registry Agency. I requested an order cancellation and refund through their website but they ignored this. There is only a noreply email address. They keep sending email saying I have to now download document to complete the order. As I paid on a credit card, does anyone know whether this maybe be covered by credit card insurance as a dispute and I may get the money back on the card? Stupid me, but it was late and been on computer all day and these websites are good at presenting themselves as official websites.

Do you have any form of actual credit card insurance as such? The general CCA section 75 is unlikely to be relevant in the context of what is effectively buyer's remorse (and has a minimum transaction value of £100 anyway).

What are the Ts & Cs governing the purchase, assuming they'll be published somewhere on the site you bought from?
  • Speak to your card issuer.

I assume by "insurance" you mean statutory rights under S75 in which case this wouldnt assist in this case.

Your card issuer may be willing to do a chargeback. Technically if the site has provided the site it said it would then they arguably shouldnt but as these sorts of sites have been high profile recently many of them are
  • Oh, dear, there's that word CON again and it's from a newbie (T) again too...as it always is ! Quelle surprise !!

The front page of their website makes it perfectly clear who and what they are..

LandRegistryAgency.co.uk is neither operated by nor affiliated with HM Land Registry

What sort of insurance can cover this?

  • S75 only covers transactions over £100.
If they provide you with what you ordered you have no comeback.

If they do not contact the card provider and say you have ordered goods that have not been received.
