Telephone the OU main enquiries number: they are very good at answering that kind of question.
  • No. 60 credits is between 16 and 20 hours a week on average.

The information is extremely clear on the OU website.

    Hi OP,

I've studied 60 credits a year with OU whilst I was on ESA, and never had a problem. They know I'm studying with OU, they never asked any more about it such as hours etc. I'm now in my 4th year with the OU (and thankfully working), but I was never quizzed on it.

It says for mu123 8 hours a week study, so im guessing its the same for t174 ....is there any way around this?

    T174 isn't a 60 credit course, it is a 30 credit course. Is it T174 you are doing? x

Right so it is 60 credits you are doing in total - possibly a way around this would be to defer one and just do 30 credits at a time to avoid being over the 16 hours x

OU is generally classed at part time by DWP irrespective of how many hours/credits.
