  • Hmmm....

I'd have stuck to the original plan of the split roof, or maybe even use panels on that WNW roof as well?

Go back to 250w panels as they will be cheaper and install on all three rooves (that still doesn't look right!!! and it appears to be a northern preference, so us soft southerners can stick to roofs :) )

Enphase are more complex and expensive that solaredge, so personally I'd go for solaredge as less to go wrong on the bits that are difficult to get to - the roof.
You will have warranty on all the bits, but you'll have to pay to get up there to fix things.
At least with Solaredge the bit that is likely to go bzzt (the inverter) will be sited in a human accessible place.
Enphase microinverters means the bit that goes bzzt means scaffolding - not a cheap or quick fix.

    Just my 2p.

That pretty much sums up my thoughts theboylard, I really can't see the reasoning for overlooking the other rooves and with a greater install cost.
I'd be looking a little bit harder at the effects of shading too, especially considering that the tree to bottom seems to be shading the bigger roof more than the one to the east.(are they your trees by the way?)
OP, take a look at this thread to help understand how to maximise your roof space to the best effect https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4909999

If your dead set on the one roof then price it up for solaredge(as theboylard suggests) as well as the enphase, can't hurt to find a price out

  • After must consideration I have made a decision and have accepted the quote. There's too much shading to the east roof, so I taking the 14 off 270 watt panels to the south roof. I have also chosen the micro inverter option. I am told that the inverters are guaranteed for 20 years and any inverters that develop a fault will be removed from the roof and replaced on the roof without charge for 10 years. I know that I cannot rely on such "guarantees" but it is a reasonable starting point. I do have the possibility of some shading on the south roof. With iBoost included it is £6,450.
