Norton Internet Security 21 - install over top, or uninstall old version?

Hi,
Our 3 PC 1 year licence copy of NIS 2013 is due to expire tomorrow. We always just buy a new DVD instead of paying Norton's daft renewal price.
So, we now have NIS v21 from Amazon (only £22), but have read that you don't have to uninstall the old version or even install this new one off the DVD, you simply enter the product code off the card inside the DVD case.
Is this right?
We have always uninstalled the previous versions for a fresh 12 montn install.
Any advice please before I unecessarily uninstall the old one tomorrow off my PC, other half's netbook and her sisters laptop?
Thanks

Thanks, we keep getting "subscription expiring" warnings.
Where do we enter the new product key? (at work so can't play with any settings!)0 -
Click on renew and put in key .... do not go to norton site (I don't have access to mine at the mo either)🍺 😎 Still grumpy, and No, Cloudflare I am NOT a robot 🤖BUT my responses are now out of my control they are posted via ChatGPT or the latest AI0

Never had ANY problems with Norton in the past and has blocked many attacks for us.
At just over £7 for a years protection for 3 seperate machines is a bargain.
But guess it's not to everyone's taste!
Also use CryptoPrevent, and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware too for extra security, both free versions.0 -
Found this from another similar thread:* Buy the newest version from Amazon.
* Install it using the new license key.
* NIS will ask if you want to uninstall the Old Version, click "Yes".
* Work through the onscreen instructions.
Now you have up-to-date Internet Security, with the latest database of AV issues. You also have the DVD if you have to reinstall at any time.
So they say to install the new version.... hmmmm.0 -
I never have ... each to their own.🍺 😎 Still grumpy, and No, Cloudflare I am NOT a robot 🤖BUT my responses are now out of my control they are posted via ChatGPT or the latest AI0
