money for the 12.5 hours a week paid by the government? one nursery school says to us that they pay us a cheque back every quarter (but we still have to fork out for 3 months) and another right at the beginning of the term (which is obviously better for us particularly being self employed). she is currently in the first nursery mentioned ...if we leave our daughter there can we ask for the money to be paid at the beginning of the term? what are other people's experience? thanks in advance.

http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/EducationAndLearning/PreschoolLearning/NurseriesPlaygroupsReceptionClasses/DG_10016103I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
amount at the beginning of the month. i suppose i would have to contact the local council to see how this works otherwise - maybe each council works differently. thanksThis page and the links from it should help

The two nurseries dd went to just gave parents the form to sign - they filled it in and sent it off. The money was just deducted from the weekly amount.
Dd's nursery (the one we claimed the vouchers for) used to take the termly amount at the start of each term, divide it by the number of weeks in the term and our bill was the remainder. Couldn't have been easier.
She's been in school a year so it was fairly recent.
