Paintable wallpaper - patchy?

We recently put up some super fresco paintable wallpaper and painted it with Dulux magnolia. All was well until it dried and it looks awful. Really patchy. It has had 3 coats now but still mega patchy. Is there anything anyone can suggest to help? I do not know why it looks patchy. We used a roller on the walls. Is this normal? Should it have a 4th coat?

Daft question maybe but did you stir the paint very well ?
...and did you roller in all directions ?
Is the paint new and not maybe a used tub, forgotten about down the shed for a while ?Am the proud holder of an Honours Degree

Do people who keep giraffes have high overheads ?0
