Hi there
Im looking at booking a flight on a Sunday (dont know what terminal yet) but the flight leaves at 10.05 am; which means I need to be there for about 8am
Cant get a train from Northampton that early in the morning
The only way to do it via train would be to leave the night before and sleep in the train station so no to that idea!
So looking at driving the car down and parking it in the airport car park for 2 weeks
But they are asking over £100 for it!

Any ideas please
Thanks

if your flying out of terminals 1-3 you could get a national express bus from Northampton to heathrow 2 1/2 hours and £27.10 there's one that leaves at around 3.30am
I don't know how you get from terminals 1-3 to 5 though...
xxThanks to money saving tips and debt repayments/becoming debt free I have been able to work and travel for the last 4 years visiting 12 countries and working within 3 of them. Currently living and working in Canada  :dance:0 -

I believe that Heathrow connect is free to transfer between the terminals.
Alternatively for the OP, look at any sleep and park deals offered by hotels. Stay at a budget hotel close to Heathrow (pretty much every hotel chain in the UK has one on Bath Road) and see if they offer 15 nights parking as part of a package.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Have a look at http://www.holidayextras.co.uk/airport-hotels.html where there are loads of Hotel + Parking deals so that you can get a nights sleep in a proper bed. Often you can get a deal through a hotel for less than what the parking alone would be.

Find a nice suburban street at a tube station close to Heathrow, park there and catch a tube back to Heatrhow.
It'll cost you nothing except half an hour or so of your time.
If you can leave your luggage at the airport first so as not to make it too obvious.
I find Hounslow is a pretty good area with some nice, leafy suburban streets not far from the tube station.
Alternatively do something similar in Woking and catch the air-coach to Heathow.
Both of these tricks have saved me hundreds of pounds over the years and I've never had a problem.
An air stewardess first alerted me to this trick.0 -

I have now had a good look at national expresses website
And yes they do run coaches on a sunday at those times
But they are not cheap; not as cheap as a train ticket
When you buy a train ticket there is usually about 10p difference between single and open return
But with N.E. is more like £20 more for a return
So £50 for a return with N.E. or £32 return on the train
PS not sure which terminal it is yet but flying out with Turkish airlines to Istanbul0 -
Turkish is a member of the Star Alliance, historically Terminal 3 but they are all moving into 2 by October, just checked, it is already in Terminal 2 which is the closest to the central bus station for National Express. Is the rail fare you quoted to London Euston, because if it is you have to pay then to get to the airport so NE may not be such a bad deal0

We have had good deals at Heathrow T5 with APH. MBW meet and greet is spot on for us at About £77 for 2 weeks. No hassle, no transfers, no waiting. Journey home starts 20 minutes after baggage reclaim.0
