Disappointing win

Well after waiting 2 months for my 'Walking on sunshine' merchandise prize it has finally arrived, now that I have got back off holiday. It contained...

• White flip flops... size 10!!!!!:eek:
• White sarong.. paper thin with ugly blue logo right in the middle and hardly big enough to wrap aroud a child:(
• White sunglasses... replaced by a childs T shirt with same ugly logo as above.:cool:
• Scarf bag.... replaced by a strange carrier bag which was poorly stitched together:(
• Branded key ring... present
• Branded beach ball... small blow up one with same ugly logo
• Branded iPhone hardback case ....cracked

The win was worth the feel good factor I got from the DM from Twitter but I'm afraid only the key ring and flip flops are going to Oxfam. The rest are in the bin.

Think I'll give the merchandise comps a miss in future.

you may think the logo is ugly but not everyone will :-/

It does seem that your prize wasn't very good, but I think you'll be cutting off your nose to spite your face if you ignore competitions because they're movie merchandise.

These things are subjective, but I enjoyed the film Let's Be Cops, and I was lucky enough to win some merchandise. The prize was really good quality, and delivered two or three days after the WEM arrived.

I just love the Message saying i am a winner, I normally give away film stuff to friends.

Film merchandise is very much pot luck with what you get. occasionally there's a gem in there. I got a really nice external hard-drive with GI Joe stuff. Another time I got a really measly plastic bag of tat from Top Cat.

I like entering those as it's a surprise what you will get

I've had hit and miss with film merch too. Hunger games sent a lovely brooch and good quality mug that my dd was thrilled with. Had a fair few mishappen and very short tshirts though!

I generally don't bother with them either - usually a notebook and/or pencil/pen, poster or stickers or glossy booklet, and a mug or keyring, etc. Apart from some Award ones which give away big bucks in their goodie bags!


Oh well - a win's a win! (More than I seem to be getting at the mo lol.)

I never enter those comps as they do usually look like a load of old tat which got left behind in the PR office.
