Ive always been a Telewest customer since moving into my first house. No problems with them at all in 3 years with phone or internet

We're now moving and im very sad to say that cable/telewest/virgin media cant move me because im not in their area zone anymore

Im mortified to say that the only other provider i know of is BT.

So here i am, 1hour and 22minutes of automated response later and im still no nearer to getting phone and internet in the new house.

I know the new house already has a BT box in there as the current tennents are BT. But im very worried that I cannot get through to someone at BT to Sign Up can you imagine what it will be like if i ever had a problem?

So please, someone make my day and tell me there is someone else i can turn to other than BT... please ! :o

Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

I just called 0808 100 5152 BT New Lines and was answered in 60 seconds. Most companies require you to have BT line rental first before you move to them, and its not a good idea moving your line rental from BT anyway.

Madsafish and Vodafone will supply new lines but you need to take their products to get it.

Although not many on MSE recommend using BT for calls (please see the 'HERE' link in my signature below).
