Home contents and buildings insurance renewal dates are different

We bought our house in January this year, and thus started our buildings insurance then. However we transferred our contents cover from our previous property, and so the renewal dates are different (our contents are now due for renewal).
Is there any way to adjust this so that I can buy combined contents and buildings cover? Has anyone else done this? Or does it not matter?
Any thoughts gratefully received!

You could buy a contents policy from LLoyds Bank (not a recommendation) who allow you to cancel at any time with a month's notice then start again when you "catch up" with the expiry date of the buildings policy.0
