    Cancel under distance selling regs.

Sounds like you will get it soon, so why not wait?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)

    Section 4, I think covers it :)

But Section 8 says 30 days (of being in stock) not 3 days
And in particular Section 8.3 says
Time shall not be of the essence.

Anyway, I think you can still use Section 4 :)

You are lucky that it hasn't arrived, cancel now ASAP and order from elsewhere. Direct bikes sell Chinese scooter which are complete and utter cr4p and will cost you in the long run (if you get that long out of it). Spend a little more and get a proper scooter.
  • My experience of them is even worse!

Ordered my scooter on 30th August and was aware that it was a pre-order with stock expected on 10th September. Based on this, and their 3 working day delivery, I booked 5 days off work to allow for it.

I emailed them on 10th to make sure that they had the stock, and was told I would be contacted the following Monday or Tuesday to arrange delivery. I kept monitoring the website and noticed that the expected delivery date changed to 13th then 15th then 18th of September, which made me annoyed. I rang them on the Monday to be told it would be the end of that week or the following week before I would be contacted to arrange delivery. Also that any dates on their website are estimates only, and sure enough in their T&C, it does state that any dates given are estimates. They also offered me a free extended warranty for the incovenience.

I contacted them again on the Friday 19th to be told that the bikes had left them and were with the courier, and i would be contacted on Monday or Tuesday. I again emailed them on the Tuesday and they gave me the couriers phone number, so I rang it to be told that they only received the bikes Monday evening and that mine was in transit to my local depot. I rang them again on Thursday, and was given a delivery day of Friday between 9 & 5. I eventually received it at 515pm after again chasing it up. It arrived in a metal frame (just need a spanner to dismantle), and all told took me 2 hours to unpack and assemble, and test.

The instruction manual is next to useless, as there is not list of contents, so I have a load of screws and bolts which I have no idea what they are for left over. I had to use the online manual to find out how to attach the back box & screen, although I haven't bothered with the screen, as it looks better without.

On the plus side the registration documents turned up the next day, well, except that the DVLA documents don't. All you receive is the proof of conformity, V267 & sales invoice. You have to order the rest (V55/4 & INF148) yourselves off DVLA, which takes 7-10 working days. Luckily, I decided to order the correct ones in advance to try and save time, in case the Direct bikes one didn't turn up straight away. Hopefully I should receive these in the next couple of days, but it can take 6 weeks for DVLA to process it.

I have no idea how the warranty works as there is no documents for it, so i'm going to have to look into it.

I'm happier now that I have it, but hindsight is a wonderful thing, and I would have rather paid the extra OTR price for a reputable brand, compared to the stress and hassle of this. Had the scooter been in stock when I ordered it, maybe the experience would have been different.

There have been numerous threads here on Mse, and stories in the press about these scooter shaped pieces of metal.
I'd hate that you were going to come back in a few weeks or a few months talking about the money you've wasted, but ..... we told you so.

Who exactly is that comment aimed at?

The OP, if JacckieG hasn't received her scooter yet and there's even half a chance that she can cancel the deal she maybe better doing so, if the bike she has ordered is one of those cheap Chinese ones.
They look nice, and they're a lot less expensive than others on themarket, but the reviews they get are terrible. The complaints you see from people who have bought one far outweigh any praise they've had.
