HSBC advance, £12.99 p/m claim back?

Afternoon guys,
I was sold the HSBC advance monthly charge purely on the basis i'd get a better interest rate on my mortgage, and also a slightly preferable LTV. Is this grounds to fill in and send the MSE template to HSBC? I did get the better interest rate so not sure if the above is grounds to claim?
I'd be due back around £450?
Thanks!

I would very much doubt MSE has a template to cover that product.I did get the better interest rate so not sure if the above is grounds to claim?
So, what would be the basis of your complaint?I'd be due back around £450?
But how much more would you have to repay them if they voided the preferential terms and put you on standard?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Template is available for monthly bank accounts, have a look on main page, it includes being sold a monthly account to get a mortgage.0

You're wrong Dunston, there is a whole MSE advice article (with template)devoted to mis-sold packaged bank accounts;I would very much doubt MSE has a template to cover that product.

However, the originating poster of this thread has apparently taken advantage of a preferential mortgage rate available only with the account. It's therefore unlikely that any complaint about the account being of no use to him will succeed.0 -
ahh, I didnt realise it was a packaged account charge. It sounded like something different from the way it was described.
However, as there has been a financial gain from, it seems nothing is actually wrong.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
