Not sure whether to post here or on old fashioned money saving?
Please move if necessary
I brew beer at home. I have a lot of 2 litre brown beer bottles. I believe they originally held cider. They have screw tops, but not like lemonade or other soft drink bottles. The tops actually have a screw down shape. They also have a rubber ring to make them air tight. Over time these perish. I am having difficulty replacing these. No one seems to stock them any more
Can anyone tell me where I might get more or if a substitute is available. The rings are about 2 cms across and 0.5 cms deep.
Thanks very much

Googled and came up with this:
http://www.hopshopuk.com/products/view/263/beer-making/equipment/caps-and-cappers/internal-screw-stopper-new-style-spare-washers
No measurements/pics but the supplier might be worth a call.0 -
Looks good to me:TI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -

No worries. If you cant find the seals you might also see if there are any collectors out there for the bottles (as is); might be worth something towards the replacements......0

I suspect that the rubber seals could be replaced by easily available and less perishable 'O' rings.0

I think on that type of bottle the flat seal sits on a taper both on the stopper and the bottle so may not work, but not expensive to try, ebay offers them in all sizes.
I bet you can find flat 1's in many sizes on there too but never checked.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
