What Credit Card for for spening abroad?

Hiya

We've booked a bit of an impromtu trip to Tenerife next week, got a very late deal and wasn't expecting it, I ahven't been on holiday for a good couple fo years so not sure how best to spend when there. We will be taking most of what we anticapate we need in Euros (won't be lot) but wanted to take a card or 2 just in case, obviously its too late to apply for a new card, so whats best out of the following for rates? Between us we have:

Current Account - Natwest
Current Account - Barclays
Current Account - Halifax
Current Account - First Direct
Current Account - HSBC
Current Account - TSB

Credit Card - MBNA
Credit Card - Barclaycard
Credit Card - Natwest

Any advice appreciated

You don't have any good cards for spending abroad, but Natwest amd Halifax debit cards are particularly bad - 'cards from hell' by MSE classification.

For Cash Withdrawals, you could use the Barclaycard (2.99% load apply but it'll be treated as a purchase).

Not too late to get a Metrobank current account if you live anywhere near London. They set your account up in branch and you walk away with a shiny new debit card with perfect exchange rate for spending in Europe. (Unless T&Cs have changed since I last looked :cool: )

Oh dear, doesn't look like I'm very well prepared!

Thanks for that guide, it should come in handy for future reference! As for metrobacnk, I live in West Wales, so would probably end up costing more in travel than I would pay interest on a PDL let alone a CC! heh.

I'll just go with the Barclaycard I think, as I said, hopfully I shouldn't need it at all, its only meant to be a bit of time splashing by the pool, and the food is all inclusive, so a "money saving" holiday
