My husband of 11 yrs has just announced he would like me to leave our marital home,he had bought the property a year before I moved in and the mortgage is in his name only hes a very unreasonable person and as I only earn 780 a month cannot see how I can rent a property to live in,does anybody know if I can claim housing benefit given the circumstances please help

You do not have to leave the matrimonial home regardless of whether it is your husband owns it. You have matrimonial home right and cannot be removed without a court order.

You need to get some advice from a solicitor. CAB can give you some support and a list of local solicitors who could help you.0 -

You do not have to leave your home. You have matrimonial home rights regardless of the fact that it is in your husband's name.
