Cooker tripping power

All my power went off earlier. Switched it back on at the fuse board but the cooker switch stayed down. If I try resetting it, all the power is tripped again.
The cooker is a built in electric oven with gas hob and this happened when the cooker was switched off!
Could it be something to do with yesterday when I spilled a load of liquid over the hob. Could some wiring have got damp?
Do I need an electrician or a cooker repair? It's a rubbish cooker and not worth repair.

Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
Turn cooker switch off, then put the circuit breaker back on.
If the cooker trips the breaker when you switch the wall isolator back on, its that... and you need to either..
a) Replace
b) Repair
If it was me, I would isolate and let it dry/hair dryer it for a few days..0 -
Even the gas hob has an electrical supply to operate the spark ignition, it's probably fed from the cooker feed. Sparky required if it hasn't already dried out.
I'd heat the gas hob up, probably need to manually light it, and give it a while to dry out. If that doesn't fix it then as above.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thanks folks. Maybe I should have a go with a hairdryer too?
This is such a pain. The house is for sale and a cooker replacement at this point is not what I need.0 -
get the hairdryer on it, that worked for me0

Thanks folks.
I lit the burners manually and left them on low for a little while.
Also gave it a go with the hairdryer where the liquid may have seeped.
Left the whole thing 'airing' and switched it back on cautiously today - everything back to normal. Phew.0 -
