ESTA passport requirements

We are planning to travel via USA in February so will need ESTA's. My granddaughter's first passport runs out in July so I'm wondering if we need to renew her passport before applying for her ESTA? We are travelling home 1st week in March and her passport expires first week in July, I've looked at the ESTA site and it doesn't say anything about length of time left on Passports but I know some countries require 6 months left on Passports and we're over that if they take the date of travel and not of return.
Thanks

As long as you have a British passport which covers you for the duration of your stay you will be fine.0

Just make sure that you apply for the ESTA's through the official US gov't website:
https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/
There are quite a few companies whose who advertise on Google and who will do the application for you and charge you an awful lot of money for doing so. (An ESTA is $14 from the official site).0
