Arabian knight and winter

Hi,
Planted 3 of these in spring and lovely flowers are still coming.

Can I leave these in the ground over winter? I'm based in Kent so mild winters. We have some other dahlias which were inherited with a house move. These are left in and come back every year.

Any tips on propagation would also be welcome

  • Well, if your other dahlias come through the winter OK, then these probably will as well. You could lift and store them, but that depends on how confident you are of storing them properly.

Propagation of dahlias is normally to wait until they start sprouting in Spring, then take those first shoots as cuttings. You probably need a greenhouse to do this successfully.
