Travel insurance dates

We are leaving this Monday and coming back the 25th. However, the flight arrives at 1.30am, i.e., on the 26. That day difference means a 20 pound difference in the American Express quote, I do not know why. What happens if I buy for 10 days straight? Will they deny a claim (supposing there is one) if they find out the return flight arrives after the 25th?
I am also lost as to which policy to choose. I will probably go for Amex because the price is reasonable and they have a good reputation. Both M&S and Saga are outrageously expensive and the latter site does not work. I have bought several travel insurances in the past and none has proved useful for minor problems (like an upset stomach). Luckily we've never had major ones. The cheapest one seems to be Holiday Safe but I have read bad reviews in this forum. Any feedback would be most welcome. Thanks!!

I doubt that it would impact a claim earlier in the week. But I'm guessing.
I certainly wouldn't like to have to pick up any bill for developing appendicitis at a minute past midnight on the 26th and the plane diverting to the nearest airport to save your life.
Either pay the extra £20, find a different insurer or investigate an annual policy that will save you a few quid across a couple of holidays.0 -
We had a similar situation some years ago, extending our insurance with the bank.
However, since we were visiting the USA, we decided it wasn't worth any risk, so paid up.Member #14 of SKI-ers club

I use tesco for travel insurance, cover is good and absolutely no hassle paying out when i needed to claim
£20 for a day seems expensive,0 -
I'd say try a different insurer use a comparison site for the dates including the 26th and see if any are cheaper!0
