im with barclays, my charges came to a total of £3575, they offered me £2600.
Ive been trying to claim back since march, my longest wait was for statments to come through. when they finally arrived i then wrote a letter explaining how much i want to claim back etc.
i asked them to contact mw within 14 days, which they failed to do, i had to make plenty of calls for them to say "it has been sent, i will resend"
when i finally recieved first letter, stated they would look into my claim and would get back to me before 11th july.......which they failed to do again, i again had to make calls again. for them to say the same thing as before.
One lady onthe phone did tell me a little of what the letter would say and what they had offered me (£2600) and that the letter will be with me in a few days (i still havent recieved it)
I rang them yesterday saying i havent recieved a letter but was informed of my offer that i would like my money ive been charged in between the time its took to get this far on top.(another £200) but the lady was not having any of it, she said that it was my final offer wouldnt get any more. so i asked to speak to someone higher then herself but again got fobbed off saying they will all say the same.so i ended the phone call.
after speaking to family members, i decided to write a letter explaining how unhelpful etc not meeting my deadlines in letters and unhelpful calls. so ive threatened to take them to court with my added £200 on top. said i want a reply within 7 days.
Inbetween all this ive had my card retained and have been told if i accept the offer, the money will automatically put my account back to zero. then i will recieve a cheque for the remaining amount. due to them closing my account straight after this has been done.
im just hoping ive done the right thing.
