Bank refusing to pay PPI as husband deceased

What hasnt helped is that the bank that the ppi claim is against is not the one where my Mother and Father had their joint account as my Mother had already provided the death certificate to have my Fathers name taken off their joint account. My Mother said she will phone the bank again tomorrow to see if she can get somone a bit more helpful to advise how we should progress this

Did your mother or anyone apply for a Grant of Letters of Administration to administer your father's estate? Was this account still open at the time of your father's death and how was it dealt with after his death?

If it was not necessary to apply for a Grant, your mother will need to explain this to the bank and find out their requirements to reissue the cheque. They may just ask her to sign a letter of indemnity and before they do it.
