  • Why destroy your credit rating, by going bankrupt, over debts that don't exist

Going bankrupt is not an option.
I never thought of his new apartment having debt attached but how have they got his correct name?
Both banks are just refusing to do anything unless he pays these alleged debts so I think we may have to go straight to the Ombudsman.
I have told him, under no circumstances, to pay anything. It sounds to me like they won't give out account numbers because there are no outstanding accounts!

:j Lloyds have admitted they have made an error and have sent written confirmation that my son owes them nothing. They've apologised and immediately removed everything off his credit file.

I personally think that they should be offering some kind of compensation for the three years in which they've been blocking his access to things like bank accounts and credit but he's just happy to have a load lifted from his shoulders.

I would think compensation is reasonable. Ask fir some and refer to FOS if they refuse.
