Has anyone got a recommendation for a Adelaide Nickel Leaf Mattress from bensons for beds or does anyone know what the mattress is really called from the original manufacturer. Other option is a la-z-boy mattress - any recommendations?

Already been burnt with that one, our current bed is carp, it was a £450 bargin 4.5 years ago for occasional use, now looking for a proper solution hence the questions, Im just wary of the 'big chain' specials but it was very comfortable. The la-z-boy was a bit cheaper but was also very comfortable but I can't find any reveiws0

Have a look at Ikea, they have really brought their matress selection up to date - not so with actual beds, though.
You can try them out, look at cut away sections and you will find pretty good value. £400 for ours, as opposed to £700 similsr in Dreams.

My double bed and mattress was £89 from a bargain bed shop!
Had it 4 years, really comfy, and a few ladies have said it's comfy too.
I don't think spending £1000's is bad, you spend more time in bed than in your car, just that this does me fine0 -
All this "you spend most of your life in bed so spend £1000" is just marketing hype because we spend alot of time in bed.
My mattress cost less than £50 nearly 2 years ago from a wholesaler on ebay. Done me fine.0 -
My silentnight cost me much much less than £1000, think it was around £400 for the bed and mattress, it's perfect, can't say it's comfy or not as i don't even notice it, which I guess is what you want from a mattress.
Had it 5 years now and still like new, can't see why a £1000 is going to be more comfy, it's not about loads of padding but just enough to not be able to feel the springs...same with bike seats, the hard ones tend to be more comfy than the super padded ones, costing 3 times the price.0 -

When you go cheap the trick is to be on the look out for something better on clearance and have a good idea of sale pricings so you know a bargain
We picked up Temur(£600) and Vi-spring supreme (£500) doubles a few years back they will probably see us out.
We also spotted 2 v-spring singles going for £50 each a few years back but don't have any single beds.
We allready have good slatted bases.0 -
Vi Spring are wonderful l. Hand built, with layers of wool and cotton, which really keep the heat in. LOVE mine, was john Lewis bargain at 1k incl base.king size.0
