Taxis are cheap, the Metro is even cheaper. Roads are big and a pain to cross, so walking places is not easy. Booze is expensive (and not strictly legal, but available in all the hotels), don't be drunk or lairy on the streets. It'll be hot, and still toasty in the evenings although a cardigan might be handy for when you go into aircon. Western womens styles (uncovered strappy shoulders, plunging necklines, legs out) are sometimes seen, but culturally not appropriate - similar to walking topless through the streets here. Be respectful and unless you're on a private hotel beach, dress modestly.

I''m also going Dubai in February, but only for 2 nights (I'm going to South Africa first)

My friend who's going with me has been before, she keeps reassuring me they're not as strict as I think! But my thinking is to air on the side of caution in regards to laws.

I have a lot of things I want to do, but won't be able to fit them all in! I want to go the mall, one of them has an aquariam in, the water park is another thing, laying on the beach and if I had the time I'd venture outside Dubai and go to Ferrari World in Abu Dhabi. There's also go karting and quad biking as well.
