re lloyds / tsb

Hi Guys, I thought lloyds and Tsb were seperate?
BUT, yesterday, I opened 2 classic plus accounts online for OH, no problems, as she already has 3 Enhance a/cs.
When I did my first online, successfully, awaiting activation code, I requested it to be paperless, as per instructions.
I got an E-mail from" Lloyds" saying this had been done, proper a/c number????
I phoned lloyds , and they had n't a clue.
They are all doing work on servers this weekend?
Any ideas how lloyds are still connected to TSB?

The are separate entities in name at least. They generally wont deal with eachothers queries if you phone them. Though I'm sure that their systems are still linked somehow as they use the same front end as HBOS and Lloyds.

Hi Steve, lloyds were useless, "is it a spoof"?
hardly, with their number on itit's .Genuine;;She blamed TSB for sending a proper lloyds E-mail out, with a genuine Tsb a/c number.
Haven't rang Tsb, they will just blame Lloyds.
They obviously still share servers, and as they are ALL working this weekend, HBOS too, presume they have to be still interconnected.
I thought it went too smooth.:D I don't even have any Lloyds accounts, OH has 3, and 3 BOS,plus 5 TSB.probably get a few more before weekend is over:beer:

Not really, ... at least not yet.

Lloyds have been ordered to sell TSB, but their first attempt failed when the Co-op suddenly dicovered they didn't really have enough money to run their own bank, let alone buy another.

So, Lloyds are selling it off slowly ... but despite haveing a rather successful IPO, Lloyds still own 61.5% and hence effectively still own it as they have the controlling interest.

TSB customers who still have old, valid Lloyds TSB debit cards, cheque books, etc can still use them. Original Lloydstsb internet banking id's and passwords still work, and if you look at their online banking, you will see other than the landing page, it is remarkably similar to the old LloydsTSB system that Lloyds still use ... and that's because it essentially is the same system.

TSB customers can still use Lloyds branches if they are more convenient to them (and vice versa)

So on this occasion, I believe you are somewhat mistaken in your belief.

No they can't. That facility was withdrawn at the end of July.

I have a TSB credit card and every month they send me an email notifying me that the statement has been produced. Sometimes these emails come from Lloyds instead of TSB.
