Meal Plans September 14th

Options
Hi, I can't see a meal plan thread for next week, but please merge if I've missed it!

I go on holiday a week on Monday, so want to use up as much as possible, buy as little as I can and make sure there's something in the freezer for when we get home.

My plan for this week is as follows -

Mon - (out at cinema) Dim Sum and Chicken and sweetcorn soup

Tues - Roast turkey with corn muffins, carrots, other veg (need to buy) and gravy

Wed - Roast turkey with leftover veg, gravy and wedges

Thurs - Turkey chow mein with whatever veg needs using

Fri - BBQ pulled turkey with beans and wedges

Sat - BBQ turkey and veg pizza

Sun - Beef fried rice (freezer)

I've got a huge turkey in the freezer, so I'll defrost and cook that for most of this week's meals, and will make a curry for the freezer for our return.

Lunches will be hm turkey and veg soup, falafel wraps, dumplings or tuna sandwiches. Breakfasts will be toast or bagels with cream cheese, sancks are fruit and yogurts.

Have a good week everyone x

  • I have lost my meal planning ways over the last few months so time to get back on the wagon

Heres mine in no particular order

    1. fish pie (based on j-oliver recipe with mushy peas mixed in with the mash
    2. chicken casserole and crusty bread
    3. home made meat balls in chilli sauce with spaghetti
    4. pork casserole in sage and cider sauce
    5. beef and butternut squash chilli
    6. chicken curry, rice nan breads
    7. Roast chicken dinner

Definitely a move towards more comfort food now its feeling autumnal.

    Have a good week everyone

Hi there, this week looks to be mixed up as I'm trying to clear the freezers.

Monday - I will be using up all the vegetarian meals that I bought months ago when my youngest decided to become vegetarian. She now eats meat again but I have a load of boxes in the freezers with various tapas style bits. I will do some jacket potatoes and coleslaw with them.

Tuesday - I am making home made faggots in onion gravy with mash and cabbage.

Wednesday - Chicken and Ham tangle pie from the Hairy Dieter's cookbook. Not made it before but have heard good things about it.

    Thursday - Chinese Takeaway

Friday - Chicken breasts in a baking bag with courgette and peppers and fajita spices, with wraps and salad.

    Saturday - cooked breakfast

Sunday - Roast chicken and all the trimmings.

Quite a few chickeny meals but it's my favourite and as I am the cook, that is what everyone is having :rotfl:.
  • I have been slowly trying to use some of my freezer stocks as I had run out of room in them, I need to so a stock check as I feel like there isn't anything to eat yet they are still well over 2/3 full!! I do have an entire drawer of ice lollies as I kept forgetting to offer them in the summer and making my own in the inside freezer!!!m Plus an entire drawer of frozen desserts and as i am a savoury person rarely remember to take them out of the freezer.

    Anyway
Mon - LO SC Gammon, mash, veg
Tues - Chilli, rice & nachos
Wed - Lentil curry, rice & naan
Thurs - BB chicken (fr), wedges & veg
Fri - Freezer meal - choice of single portion meals made over the last x months.
    Sat - Out
Sun - SC brisket (fr), roast pots, veg followed by PUDDING (fr)

I have fallen off the meal planning band wagon and it is causing me a lot of stress which I don't need :(

It is time to get organised again :A
Today- LO chicken and gammon made in to jambalaya
Thursday- LO Gammon turned in to carbonara or gammon, egg and chips. If I do carbonara I can save some gammon for another quiche and a stir fry next week
Friday- Spam fritter with spicy wedges and garlic mushrooms
Saturday- HM pizza and garlic bread
    Sunday- Fish, chips and peas

I've used up some frozen broccoli to make a quiche for lunch tomorrow. I have LO Oxtail stew in the fridge defrosting for lunch today and the rest of our lunches will be HM wraps with egg mayo or jam on toast.
