Both models are subscription devices, whilst some will baulk at the subscriptions, depending on where you are, the subscription can pay back for itself with just a few usues per year. Even on my 6 mile commute from work, I could see if my usual route had delays longer than the rat runs, my car has sat nav built in but no option to subscribe to a service so there is just MC, all is not lost though as I just view google now on my handset before leaving work.

That's an old model with TMC, best avoided. Live traffic is what you want.

Just one last question/option (I may get told off for not mentioing it).
I have a go live 750
Just the main screen unit.
No dock, no charger, nothing.
I "think" I need an active dock (whatever that is).
But they seem to be discontinued.

The charger is built into the Go Live 750. To get it to work you just need a USB cable with one end matching your sat nav.
A dock in some thing that holds your sat nav. An active dock is a dock that will also charge your satnav (you plug the usb cable into the dock rather than the sat nav).
You require a subscription to get traffic on the Go Live 750, its around £50 a year I think.
