First Utility - early exit fee - moving home
I am considering switching to First Utility on their iSave Fixed v30 tariff. There is a £60 early exit fee. I might move home between now and the end date. If I move and can't take the tariff with me, will I have to pay the early exit fee?
I've tried to find an answer on the First Utility website but there doesn't seem to be an answer.
Also I know that First Utility have had some bad reviews, but my thinking is that I don't have any special requirements like economy 7 or warm home discount, and I am an experienced switcher, so there shouldn't be too much that could go wrong.

They really shouldn't charge you an early exit fee just for moving home. Imagine you're a tenant and the property needed repairs and you were relocated, it's not your fault so it would e hard to penalise you for that.
With that being said, I know a lot of energy companies do say you'll be charged an early exit fee for moving home in order to encourage you to take the supply with you, a dirty tactic.0 -
I spoke with FU yesterday and asked this question, they said they do charge but would refund you if you stayed with them at the next property. At first I was surprised but then thought 'of course they charge, they're an energy supplier, what else would you expect'. Sorry, very low opinion of energy suppliers in general and FU specifically. If anything I say starts to make sense, PANIC!0
